Ten Thousand Bytes of Cinematic Critique
I accidentally uploaded this Wednesday, took it down, then never remembered to put it back up until last night, while I was out and about. Die Hard 2 (also known as Die Harder) is the sequel to The French Connection...no, wait, I mean Die Hard. Truth be told, there's not a lot to say about this film. It's a very serviceable action film, with plenty of one-liners, gun fights, explosions, etc. It gets a little ridiculous at times, but overall it is believable enough that the viewer can get lost in the fantasy of John McClane (Bruce Willis), ordinary hero. That said, the plot is a little thin, and while the bad guy is decidedly evil, he doesn't have much to him beyond that. He was never really fleshed out. His crew consists of the T-1000, or rather Robert Patrick is his last role before becoming one of film's greatest robots. Dennis Franz also appears as the chief of police...of the airport. He rides McClane pretty hard, but McClane DOESN'T PLAY BY THE RULES. YEAH!Overall, a fun movie, but nothing earth-shattering. Worth seeing, especially if you liked the first.
I've never looked at icicles the same way since this movie...But, yeah, for a movie that is commonly believed to be the weakest link in a chain of Die Hard action movies, Die Hard 2 is still decent stuff. And isn't that stupid subtitle of "Die Harder" part of the actual title?
I just went with the IMDB official designation. That said, the plot is a little thin, and while the bad guy is decidedly evil, he doesn't have much to him beyond that. He was never really fleshed out. His crew consists of the T-1000, or rather Robert Patrick is his last role before becoming one of film's greatest robots. That is a poorly written paragraph. Shame on me.
Yeah, that should have been "IN his last role". And you could have been environmentally friendly to the wild commas by not slaughtering them wholesale for your first sentence. You think they just grow on trees? :D Yes, I just emoted. Sorry. And I should have mentioned that the villain in Live Free or Die Hard 4 is even more two-dimensional and weak-assed. Blegh. Anyway, I'm pretty sure your written reviews still put me to shame.
